Multi Port Serial to Ethernet Application Kit
Enable you to monitor your sensors from your desktop. The Rabbit Serial-to-Ethernet Kit provides the hardware and software necessary for sensors and other serial devices to communicate via a LAN or other network. The Multi-Port Serial-To-Ethernet Application Kit allows you to simultaneously connect several serial devices to a network.
Implementation of the optional RabbitWeb software module makes it simple to web-enable your application to allow monitoring and control of serial devices via the Internet or Intranet. Other optional software modules help to secure your data through SSL and encryption.
The Multi-Port Serial-to-Ethernet Kit uses several sample application programs to guide you through serial to Ethernet conversion. Powered by the RCM3700 Rabbitcore, the Kit also includes a prototyping board, the Dynamic C development environment including a royalty-free TCP/IP stack with source code, sample applications, temperature sensor demoboard, required cables, and assorted accessories. The sample applications highlight functionality such as RS-232 to Ethernet conversion, RS-485 to Ethernet conversion, Ethernet to Serial Conversion, data gathering from serial devices such as the included temperature sensor demoboard and a digital voltmeter (not included), and web-enabling applications. A coupon good for a discount on the RabbitWeb software module is included with the application kit.
Designing with the RabbitCores
The RabbitCore family of microprocessor core modules is designed to facilitate rapid development and implementation of embedded systems. RabbitCores are powered by high-performance 8-bit Rabbit microprocessors with extensive integrated features and a C-friendly instruction set designed for use with the Dynamic C development system.
The RabbitCore mounts on a user-designed motherboard and acts as the controlling microprocessor for the user's system. Small in size but packed with powerful features, these core modules give designers a complete package for control and communication. The integrated Ethernet port frees designers from the limitations of serial-port communications and control and permits instant local or worldwide connectivity using low-cost networking hardware. Embedded systems using the Ethernet RabbitCore module can be controlled and monitored (as well as programmed and debugged when using appropriate accessory hardware) across any network or the Internet. |
