Like the previous CoreExpress modules, it measures only 58mm x 65mm, but undercuts those regarding power consumption: only 3 Watt are required.
Amarvell Armada-310 System-on-a-Chip is at the heart of the CoreExpress-A310 operating at 600MHz or 1.0GHz clock frequency. Its CPU core is ARMv5TE compatible and provides 256KB Level 2 cache. The module comes standard with either 256 or 512MB of DDR3 RAM. Linux is the upported operating system, with all drivers provided. The Armada-310 interfaces are available on a multi-pole high speed connector according to the CoreExpress-concept. They include:
- 2PCI Express x1 lanes
- 4USB 2.0 ports
- 1 Gigabit Ethernet MAC
- 2 SATA ports
- SD/SDIO/MMC Interface
- SMB Bus
- SPI bus
- LVDS interface with back light control
The CoreExpress module is powered with a 5V supply voltage. All other requried voltages are generated from this input, using on-board voltage regulators. To round out its hardware capabilities, the CoreExpress-A310 employs a microcontroller that takes care of the correct starting sequence of the different voltage sources, and also handles the LEMT functionality.
LEMT, short for Lippert Enhanced Management Technology, is implemented in all current Lippert products and offers features for condition monitoring. Developers can embed LEMT in their applications using the open interfaces. As a special feature the CoreExpress-A310 can measure its own supply current and thus the power consumption of the CPU under different operation condiitons can be determined in real time.
Like all products of the LIPPERT CoreExpress-A310 is available also in the extended temperature range from -40ºC to 85ºC
