OP7200 SBC & ¼ VGA Operator Control Panel

The OP7200 intelligent operator interface is a small, high performance, C-programmable single board computer and display unit that offers built-in I/O, Ethernet connectivity, and an optional touchscreen. A Rabbit 2000 microprocessor operating at 22.1 MHz provides fast data processing.

The compact OP7200 eDisplay is an intelligent operator interface ideal for data acquisition and stand-alone systems such as factory floor controls.

The OP7200 is designed for panel mounting and is NEMA-4 compatible. The OP7200 incorporates the powerful Rabbit 2000 microprocessor, flash memory, static RAM, industrialized digital I/O ports, RS-232/RS-485 serial ports, a 10Base-T Ethernet port, and eight optional A/D converter inputs and touchscreen.

RabbitNet

The OP7200 has one RabbitNet port, which can support one peripheral card. Distances between a master processor unit and peripheral cards can be up to 10 m or 33 ft. The following low-cost peripheral cards are currently available.

  • Digital I/O
  • A/D converter
  • D/A converter
  • Display/Keypad interface
  • Relay card

RabbitNet expansion ports enable you to design a modular and expandable embedded control system for real-time control, display, and data-acquisition applications.

A typical RabbitNet system consists of a master single-board computer (SBC) and one or more peripheral cards. A Rabbit microprocessor on the master provides fast data processing, and the master SBC also provides the DCIN and +5 V power for the peripheral cards.

Programming the OP7200

Programs are developed for the OP7200 using Rabbit’s industry-proven Dynamic C® software development system. Dynamic C® offers an extensive library of drivers and demo programs, along with royalty-free TCP/IP stack with source. You can program and debug both OP7200 models over Ethernet/Internet using the appropriate accessory hardware. Demo programs include pop-up menuing, onscreen keypads, data transmission/reception over TCP/IP and serial connections, analog volt meter display, and many more.

Development Tool Kit

The development tool kit contains the hardware essentials you will need to use your OP7200. The items in the Tool Kit and their use are as follows.

  • OP7200 Getting Started instructions
  • Dynamic C CD-ROM, with complete product documentation on disk
  • Programming cable, used to connect your PC serial port to the OP7200
  • 240VAC adapter, used to power the OP7200
  • Demonstration board with pushbutton switches and LEDs. The Demonstration Board can be hooked up to the OP7200 to demonstrate the I/O.
